Gleb Savchenko is expanding his talent portfolio and now entering the world of film. The Dancing With The Stars pro has recently embarked on an acting role as he becomes a part of upcoming movie Swing Into Romance.
Gleb Savchenko to Kick Off Acting Career with Swing Into Romance
In an Instagram shared on July 14, 2023, Savchenko stated that he feels “grateful and thrilled” to plunge into his new journey. The tv personality, who prides himself with his dancing expertise, will be launching his acting debut with Swing Into Romance.
“Excited to announce my first role in a movie and can’t wait to bring this character to life of Alex Ivanov,” he wrote. “Working hard, pushing boundaries, and embracing every moment.”
The Dancing With The Stars pro will star alongside Danica McKellar and David Haydn-Jones. For those who may not know, McKellar was a former contestant and a fan-favorite on DWTS. Swing Into Romance is a dance-themed movie, which makes Savchenko’s first ever role more interesting. In the same post, the dancing pro expressed his gratitude for McKellar for her support.
“Huge shoutout to the incredible @danicamckellar for believing in me and guiding me through this incredible experience and also being an amazing dance partner,” he wrote.
Savchenko then stated that the present project was “all about teamwork.” He then ended the post positively, saying that he feels “blessed and ready to shine on the big screen.”
Danica McKellar Says She, Savchenko are “Mentors of Each Other”
In an earlier post on Instagram, McKellar manifested her excitement for being part of the new film. Afterwards, she noted her delight upon having Savchenko in the project. According to the actress, working with the dancing pro brought back the “thrill” of her time on DWTS.
“The really cool and unique part was that we were mentors to each other: Not only did he mentor me in dance, but this was first acting role, so I had the great pleasure to mentor him in acting! We would alternate between dance rehearsals and acting rehearsals over the weekends,” she wrote.
McKellar then praised Savchenko for being a “sponger” with aspects that she teaches him. As described by the Crown For Christmas star, the DWTS pro “did a terrific job” that people would not know it was his acting debut.
Calling their time together in Canada as “Art Camp,” McKellar deems their moments with Savchenko and Haydn-Jones as a treasured time. Swing Into Romance is set to hit the big screen in September 2023.
